I've been on finasteride 1mg for 5 months. It has taken me about two months to notice improvement but it took me until the end of the 5 month mark to notice significant results (my hair was very thinning and I had a receding hairline on my crown). I had to stop taking it because my hair was starting to thin and I could not keep it all together in a timely manner. I have noticed that I only keep about 1.25mg in a 24 hour period. I noticed that the hair loss has increased a lot (I know this is a bit extreme) but the benefits outweigh the side effects and I don't think anyone in my situation would have been affected by this situation.
I've been using finasteride for 3 months now. I don't want to stop taking it, I want to make sure the hair stays on it and doesn't break. I'm not going to stop taking it just because I'm scared that I won't be able to keep my hair again. I've read that it's very important for hair to grow in the first place. I'll keep an eye on my hair loss and if it continues, the doctor will make a decision that is best for me.
I'm not sure if I'll ever stop taking finasteride, will I be able to maintain the results for long and will I have to stop it?
I'm a bit worried about the side effects, but can't say much for this. I would like to see my hair regrow and keep it all together as a healthy, normal part of my life.

- I think you need to be very careful with hair loss, especially if it's on your crown. Finasteride works best for people with hair loss and those who have a receding hairline. I have to say that it doesn't take much to see the benefits that come from using finasteride. It's only one of those things you need to know.I know you have noticed that it's a bit of an off-putting problem, but if you have hair loss, you don't want to do anything about it. I'm just wondering if it's possible that this issue might be something else. If I can keep my hair, I would just like to see how things go when it comes to my hair.

There's no need to stop using finasteride just because you want to keep it better. You can still keep your hair longer, but it's important to know that finasteride won't be able to regrow your hair. 6 months in It's working for me! I can note the difference in thickness and texture. I will add I also added a Vitamin routine to my diet at the same time.

Have been taking for 6 months alongside minoxidil. Have definitely seen a reduction in hair loss as well as new growth from the combination

One pill taken every other day, and after four months or so, new hairs have started popping up. Can't say there is a dramatic difference in overall hair growth, but it's definitely working. Hopefully, with continued use, the difference will be more obvious. Haven't noticed any side effects at all.

Had definitely helped stop front centre hair loss and my hair has even started to thicken up a little again. I'm using in conjunction with Minoxidil, however the Minoxidil on its own definitely wasn't as effective as Finasteride. No side effects that I've noticed either and have been using for nearly a year now.

I've just finished my first 168 tablets and I'm very happy with the effect it has on my hair. I've started taking one pill a day 3 weeks after my hair transplant for 6 months. Since then I've been taking 3 pills a week (mo,we,fr). My hair is looking great and I'm only getting compliments. I'm not aware of side effects and if there were any, the positive effects of having hair would outweigh them.
